Hendon/RiverGate Mall is seeking a highly-motivated self-starter to join its Leasing team as a Commercial Leasing Agent. This individual will work in tandem with RiverGate Mall’s General Manager and Senior Director of Leasing. In addition, this position is afforded the opportunity to receive individualized, on the job training through direct shadowing and communication with the Senior Director of Leasing. The purpose of the Commercial Leasing Agent position is to create value by handling short-term opportunities at the Mall (license agreements.) The Commercial Leasing Agent will present and lease locations to prospective lessors. The goal is to scout, identify, qualify, and convert prospective leads into clients and achieve high occupancy rates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility of the Commercial Leasing Agent satisfactorily, which include but are not limited to the following:
- Screen incoming leasing inquiries and broker calls, supply property information, show (tour) available spaces, and quote lease rates;
- Monitor lease renewals;
- Cold call targeted tenants and qualify lease prospects;
- Prepare and negotiate license agreements using property standards and regulations;
- Develop rapport and build relationships with new prospects by identifying, defining and providing solutions for their needs;
- Track, notate, and update leasing prospects in PipeDrive software;
- Maintain connection with current tenants to facilitate renewals/future negotiations;
- Work to resolve clientele issues and concerns promptly and professionally;
- Stay knowledgeable of the current rental market;
- Attend weekly and monthly team meetings or when requested;
- Report all assigned property leasing activity and communicate upcoming changes to team;
- Handle the collection of security deposits and some rent payments;
- Ensure effective and smooth handoff after signing of leases; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The minimum requirements and qualifications for the position of Commercial Leasing Agent include but are not limited to the following:
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education or experience required (bachelor’s degree preferred);
- Proven working experience and knowledge of real estate and leasing practices, minimum 2 years’ working experience in commercial real estate preferred
- Proven successful sales record with minimum 2 years’ experience in sales
- Must have a good driving record with valid driver’s license as well as a reliable vehicle and current valid personal vehicle automobile insurance;
- Persuasive marketing and sales skills;
- Experience analyzing contracts and rental agreements.
- Strong customer service skills including excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills;
- Ability to show space;
- Adaptable and able to handle a fast-paced, quick-changing environment;
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision, have strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills;
- Ability to succeed in a team environment;
- Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and personal career development;
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn;
- Skilled in the use of the internet, spreadsheets, and word processing software;
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
