The Gene B. Glick Company is searching for a tax credit expert in the Multifamily industry!
Responsible for ensuring program compliance for the company including compliance at all properties with federal and state multi-family housing program requirements and guidelines and all other federal housing requirements. Responsible for the overall management of, and improvement to, the operational systems, processes, and policies related to program compliance including interpretation of federal and state regulations, quality control, training, and standards.
Supervise, develop, and train the compliance department team members.
Responsible for ensuring compliance processes, standards, and training content are developed, updated, and maintained to ensure policy and procedure alignment with federal, state, and company requirements. Work directly with the compliance department and property personnel to ensure properties comply with all regulations and requirements.
Monitor internal and external compliance quality control reviews and audits and identify recurring compliance issues.
Ensure that all state, federal, and company reporting and monitoring of all compliance requirements for each property is completed and resolved timely and accurately.
Devise improvements to internal quality control structure and recurring compliance issues.
Monitor the compliance and reasonable accommodation helpdesks to ensure the standard operating procedures are followed, identify recurring compliance issues, and ensure compliance processes, standards and training are developed, updated, and maintained.
Provide direction and management of the compliance helpdesk to ensure issues and inquiries are resolved in accordance with the service level agreements.
Oversee the compliance requirements of property acquisitions, rehabs, dispositions, and new construction developments.
Facilitate compliance reviews with external audit firms and coordinate identified corrective measures.
Develop relationships with all regulatory personnel and maintain effective partnerships.
Monitor and interpret new regulations, legislation, and laws by reviewing and analyzing proposed and adopted legislation and regulations. Develop, update, and maintain compliance processes, standards, and training relevant to changes.
Oversee 504/Reasonable Accommodations/Modification request reviews with 504 committee members. Provide direction to the reasonable accommodation committee.
Develop and assist with implementation of various initiatives and assignments.
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Experience using PC based word processing and spreadsheet software preferred.
Must possess excellent time-management, project management and organizational skills.
Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License in the state of residence.
Able to work efficiently with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through.
Must possess strong analytical, communication, administrative, leadership, research, and interpersonal skills.
3+ years of demonstrated and progressive compliance experience with Housing Assistance Payment vouchering systems.
5+ years of experience with compliance regulations for federal multi-family housing programs, such as but not limited to: Fair Housing, LIHTC, HUD Project Based Section 8, HUD Project Based and tenant vouchers.
Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Some travel may be required.
