The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Ball State University is looking to fill a professional position to manage the Maplewood Mansion Learning Lab starting June 12, 2017.
The Maplewood Mansion Learning Center (MMLC) is the only such laboratory operated on a U.S. college campus and one of a dozen teaching hotels operated by academic departments. Its entire workforce will be made up of Ball State University students, with the majority of them majoring in Hospitality and Food Management or Residential Property Management.
Major responsibilities: Teach 6 hour credit load per academic semester and summer semester and management (50% of assigned time) of the Maplewood Mansion Learning Lab.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree by date of appointment from an accredited college or university; five years of managerial experience in Residential Property Management (RPM) or Hospitality and Food Management (HFM).
Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree in Residential Property Management or Hospitality and Food Management or a related field from an accredited college or university. Record of successful teaching at the college/university level; Evidence of professional activity as evidenced by attendance/involvement in professional organizations and meetings, significant experience and involvement with secondary schools/programs and personnel.
